Dr. Alpana Sowani is a practicing diabetes specialist since last 18 yrs. She is passionate about reducing the burden of diabetes in society. She approaches the patient as a human being rather than only a blood report, thus helping her patients to have a near normal life as they did prior to being diagnosed as diabetics.She uses science technology and a holistic approach for treatment of diabetes.
Dr. Alpana Sowani has done her undergraduate medical education from Mumbai at Somaiya medical college and post graduate degree in diabetolgy from BYL Nair hospital and SL Raheja hospital.
At her center there are complete diabetes care solutions, from management of blood sugars, diet planning, ECG, Hba1c testing, complete podiatry services to check for neuropathy and vascular problems of lower limbs.
She also provides AGP (ambulatory glucose profiles)testing which is a non invasive testing device which measures blood glucose for 14 days continuously.
Dr. Alpana is also involved in Prediabetes diagnosis ,counselling and management.
She has a special interest in treating Type 1 diabetes and Gestational diabetes (diabetes in pregnancy).
Diabetic foot management is one of her specialities.
